Richard Scott

Born in Great Britain in 1968, self-taught artist Richard Scott has gained increasing popularity on the South African and international art market in recent years.

He has been a qualified technical illustrator since 1991. In 1997 he founded an IT company, which he left in 2001 to devote himself to art. Since then he has worked full-time as an artist.

In addition to numerous group and solo exhibitions in South Africa, he has also presented his works at international exhibitions.

In his colorful and figurative works, he mainly shows female semi-nudes in a variety of playful poses, but also his other favorite subjects such as trees and animals. His paintings are applied in thick, monochrome paint over large surfaces and have striking black contours.

Simplicity and color. These two concepts are at the heart of Richard Scott's works. In his works, white represents the purity of the motif, the secret world inside the object. This is surrounded by a colorful outer shell. Thick black lines separate the outer and inner essences.
