About SOUL OF AFRICA

Kapstadt früher und Sandboarding in Südafrika

Our Story

"I was very lucky to be able to live in Cape Town for a while shortly after the turn of the millennium. At that time, a few years after the end of apartheid, there was a unique atmosphere in South Africa. The whole country wanted to open up to the world and expressed this with a huge party.

I felt an "energetic beat" in the air. This "vibrancy" expressed itself in many ways. For me, however, it was primarily in the creative power that was particularly evident in the areas of design, photography, interior design and, ultimately, art.

Coupled with the indescribable beauty of African nature, it was the most beautiful place I could imagine.

Since then, I have spent a lot of time in southern Africa and have become increasingly aware of the great potential of the artists working there. I have repeatedly asked myself how I can give them more reach and how I can connect all of this with my home country, Germany.

The initial spark came in 2019, when I visited a gallery in Hout Bay. I immediately fell in love with a painting. It radiated exactly the energy and feeling that I associate so strongly with modern Africa."

This gave rise to a clear mission.

Today we discover numerous talented and modern artists on the African continent. We then support them in gaining international recognition and expanding their reach. In order to make this unique art accessible to people here too, we bring selected exhibits to our gallery in Germany. We build a bridge between the artists in Africa and the art enthusiasts here, because art connects.

Through expressive and diverse works of art we want to show a modern continent.

Despite all the positive developments, Africa's nature is all too often neglected. That's why we want to use part of our income to support environmental and animal protection projects.

By promoting modern African artists, we showcase an innovative and creative Africa that radiates a unique "vibrancy" through its very "energetic cultures".

As the European portal for contemporary African art, we build a bridge between the continents.

But the project is not just intended to bring art from Africa to Europe, it is also intended to have a positive impact locally. That is why we allow part of the proceeds to flow back into local environmental and animal protection projects.
