Vivian Timothy
Vivian Timothy is a self-taught Nigerian Igbo artist and has lived between Nigeria and Germany for 25 years. She studied biochemistry and actually wanted to become a singer, but then discovered her talent for art.
Her pictures reflect her love for her roots and her origins. Pictures that tell a lot about African lifestyles and traditions that are increasingly disappearing. The artist shows her world with a variety of colors and metaphorical elements in which women in particular talk about struggle, difficult living conditions, but also about beauty and development.
"If we break our chains, we become free, but if we break our roots, we die," says the artist.
